Note:  For American citizen residents, and geographically, Germany is unique to other European countries.  How?  Why?
• with its dispersed throughout the country vs. any centralized capital city American populace (not like Paris, France; London, England; Rome, Italy, etc.) - and this is the reason smaller local chapters are needed (we currently have 12 regional/city chapters throughout Germany)
• has the largest U.S. military population
• has one of the largest populations of civilian American residents - ca. 200,000 and second only to the U.K. (with only about 13,000 more)
• likely has some of the most permanent resident Americans, as well as dual-national citizens (their children) who have never lived in the U.S.
• the number of European countries it borders - 9! - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, and Switzerland
As RA has no Austria or Denmark country chapters, and the Netherlands chapter in currently inactive, RA Germany tries to help serve their Republican residents too.
